A party was in the air. It had been brewing since the day we moved to the Mansion in May…and the flurry of last minute preparations on Friday morning, July 29th, added to the anticipation. The day had finally arrived. In a few hours, we would be opening the house for the first time to family and friends, stakeholders and clients, vendors and Cap Hill neighbors, historians and distant relatives of the Sheedy clan. There was work to be done. The demands of a regular work day still demanded attention, but our soon-to-arrive guests would remind us that there’s really nothing regular about any day spent stewarding the legacy of a National Historic Landmark and the man who built it. So, for those who weren’t able to be with us, and for the rest of us who need a reminder of what’s in the air here every day, enjoy the sights and sounds and smiles and significance of this place we call home.
Special thanks to our very own amazing planners, Laura Shackles of Blush and Bay, Serendipity Catering, Mannequin, and the Historic Denver docents for making the Open House such a lovely event. Thanks also to the entire Unbridled family for making our guests feel welcome in our new home…and to Unbridled Media for capturing the occasion for us.
