Unbridled's Policy on Candidate Use of AI Tools During Interviews

At Unbridled, we embrace innovation and the evolving role of technology in the workplace. As a people-first organization, we also believe that human connection and authentic dialogue are foundational to our hiring process.

We recognize that candidates may use generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or others) to support their job search. Used appropriately, these tools can enhance clarity, structure, and preparation. However, during live interviews, we expect candidates to engage authentically and without the use of AI support unless explicitly approved in advance.

What We Encourage:

  • Using AI tools to help prepare for interviews, such as practicing responses, researching topics, or structuring your thoughts.
  • Using AI to support resume writing, cover letters, and other written materials during the application phase.

What We Expect:

  • During live interviews (virtual or in-person), we ask that candidates do not use AI notetakers, real-time transcription tools, or response-generation assistants without prior discussion and approval.
  • In most cases, our interview process includes a take-home assessment designed to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your unique skills, talents, and problem-solving approach. To ensure a fair and accurate evaluation, we ask that all assessments be completed independently, without the use of generative AI tools.
  • If you feel you have a specific need (e.g., accessibility-related) that warrants AI support during an interview, please let us know—we will always work with you to ensure equitable and inclusive access.

What You Can Expect from Us

Our team members are also held to a high standard in how they engage with candidates. While AI tools may be used after interviews to help summarize notes or draft follow-ups, we do not allow team members to use AI notetakers, transcription tools, or response-generating software during interviews without prior approval and disclosure. If an AI tool is used to support a process behind the scenes, the content is always reviewed and edited to ensure it reflects our people-first approach. You can expect every interaction with us to be thoughtful, respectful, and genuinely human.

  • Interviews are a mutual conversation. We want to get to know you! Your communication style, problem-solving approach, and how you think in real time. This is why you will never experience an AI bot interviewing you at Unbridled.
  • Our goal is to create space for human connection, curiosity, and candor, not performance under pressure.

What Happens If AI Use Is Discovered Without Disclosure:

  • We may pause the interview and follow up to understand the situation.
  • Undisclosed or deceptive use of AI during interviews may disqualify a candidate from the process.
